Fujifilm’s small weather sealed lens line-up receives a new member. Meet the 16mm f:2.8 !
The S gets a smaller brother with the launch of the R. More compact but like a beefed up X-E3 seems to be a great choice for travel. At the same time Fujifilm updated its lens roadmap with:
Fujinon GF 100-200mm f:5.6 R LM OIS WR telephoto zoom lens
Fujinon GF 50mm f:3.5 R LM WR compact prime lens
Fujinon GF 45-100mm f:4 R LM OIS WR ”standardish” zoom lens
Fujifilm will add a 33mm F1.0 (2020), 16mm F2.8 and 16-80mm F4 lenses (2019) to its lens line-up.
Being the entry level model in Fujifilm’s mirrorless cameras lineup and bringing the central EVF “hump” in a dSLR style (the “T” line), the X-T100 offers well known features of the X-A5 and some of its bigger brother, the X-T20, as well as a fully articulating LCD screen (even more flexible the the one on X-T2 and X-H1). Not bad for a $600 price point!
Today Fujifilm’s APS-C X system receives a new flagship camera, the X-H1. At about 100 dollars cheaper than the OM-D E-M1 II from Olympus and Panasonic’s Lumix GH5 seems an interesting alternative more so because of the newly implemented IBIS. We’ll if this technology will be used in later cameras from the lower classes.
